Reflecting on My First 10 Website Projects as a Developer

January 20, 2023

~/Intro

As a developer, starting out can be a challenging but rewarding journey. Your first few projects can often shape the trajectory of your career and can be a great learning experience. In this blog post, we will be taking a look at my first 10 website projects and the lessons I learned while developing them. From design choices to coding techniques, I will be sharing my experiences and insights, and discussing what I did well and what I could have done better. Whether you are just starting out in the world of web development or you are a seasoned professional, I hope this post will provide you with valuable insights and inspiration for your own projects.

~/First Project

Located in Birendranagar, a small town with limited business opportunities, I found myself searching for my first project as a developer. Despite the challenges, I was determined to find a project that would allow me to showcase my skills and gain valuable experience. That's when I had an idea - why not approach the local schools and offer to create websites for them?

My first project came from a school in the area. They were interested in having a website but didn't know where to start. I jumped at the opportunity and quickly got to work. I researched the school, identified their needs, and designed a website that would meet their requirements. The process wasn't easy, but the satisfaction of completing my first project made it all worthwhile.

With my first project under my belt, I set my sights on finding more opportunities. I visited all the schools in the area, introducing myself and explaining the benefits of having a website. It wasn't an easy sell, but with persistence and a convincing pitch, I was able to secure several more projects.

Creating websites for the local schools not only gave me the chance to hone my skills as a developer but also allowed me to give back to the community. The websites I created helped the schools better connect with parents and students, providing a platform to share news and information.

In the end, my experience creating websites for schools in Birendranagar taught me that sometimes the best opportunities are right in front of you. By taking the initiative to seek out projects and using my skills to benefit the community, I was able to jump-start my career as a developer and make a positive impact on those around me.

~/Hotels

Encouraged by the success of my work with the local schools, I decided to broaden my horizons and look for projects outside of the education sector. I visited the hotels in Birendranagar, hoping to find an opportunity to create a website for one of them. It wasn't long before I landed my first hotel project, and I was thrilled at the chance to apply my skills in a new context.

However, as I delved into the project, I quickly realized that working with hotels was a different beast altogether. The requirements were much more complex, and there were several factors to consider, such as online booking systems and menu pages. I found myself facing numerous challenges that I had never encountered before. But I persevered, researching the best tools and techniques to create a website that would meet the hotel's needs. In the end, my hard work paid off, and I was able to deliver a website that the hotel was happy with.

Despite the challenges, I knew that working with hotels was an opportunity to further expand my skills and take on more complex projects. I went on to secure two more hotel projects, each one pushing me to learn and grow as a developer. And while the work was tough, it was also incredibly rewarding to see the impact that my websites had on these businesses. It was a reminder that even in a small town like Birendranagar, there are endless opportunities to make a difference with your skills and expertise.

Thank you, Guys

I would like to take a moment to express my gratitude to two individuals who have been instrumental in my journey as a developer. First, I want to thank my classmate and friend, Naren Magar, for his unwavering support in helping me learn new technologies. Without his guidance, I may not have been able to develop the skills necessary to embark on my journey as a developer. His mentorship and encouragement have been invaluable to me, and I am deeply grateful for his friendship.

Secondly, I want to extend my appreciation to Nirmal Kharal, who has been involved in the entire process of my startup. From ideation to execution, Nirmal has been an essential part of the team, providing valuable insights and contributions. His dedication and hard work have been critical to the success of our project, and I am grateful for his involvement.
